Nanga Parbat is a chain of snow-capped peaks that form a semi-circle around the ferry meadows. 'Nanga Parbat' when viewed from Ferry Meadows, this place is truly mind blowing. Surrounded by white snow-capped peaks, filled with the coldness of snow, fresh air and fragrant air all day long, it is like a paradise sitting on the edge of a cold water spring in the valley. It can be easily guessed.

Ferry Meadows has an average elevation of 3600 meters and is geographically situated on the extreme western edge of the Himalayas. Raikot, located on the Karakoram highway, 540 kilometers from the federal capital Islamabad, is the last stop on the paved road to Ferry Meadows. Raikot is also famous for a large bridge built over the Indus River and is situated within the limits of Chilas or Diamer District. A private jeep from Raikot will take you to 'Tatu', a village situated at an altitude of 2900 meters, in about one and a half hours.

Ryekot presents an oven scene in summer. The surrounding rocky copper-colored mountains and the sand on the banks of the Indus River glow with the warmth of the sun. As the jeep journey starts from Raikot, the steep climb begins suddenly.

 The climb takes you up to Tattu in an endless formation with countless twists and turns and the deep-flowing Raikot River. This route consists of a hot and dry journey and local people who mostly trek on foot take this route in the morning or evening

. The Nanga Parbat is visible at the bends of the road from the foothills of the mountains and if you look back. If you look closely, you can see the views of Rakapushi mountain in the distance.

On reaching Tattu, a transparent spring of fresh and cold water announces the end of the journey. Most of the tourists gather at this spring as soon as they reach here and wash away the fatigue of the journey with the water. However,

 there is an airy place and a sense of purpose upon reaching here. There are also a couple of wooden or tin hotels where tea and food are available. Camping ground is also available in Tutu. Tatuke is named after a hot water spring in the village.

 Apart from this, where the jeep drops you off, there is a beautiful waterfall on the opposite side of the spring, on your right, a little further along the banks of the spring, which is usually hidden from the tourists.

Beyond that you have to walk to Ferry Meadows, but if you prefer, it is also possible to hire a mule or horse. If you have a lot of luggage, you can also arrange a porter from Tattu village for a reasonable fee which will help ease your journey.

 The trek from Tattu to Ferry Meadows is quite difficult for many people. feels The reason is a constant ascent that has to be done for a long time in the sun and at high altitude. But the reward far outweighs the effort. If you are hiking, don't forget to carry a water bottle with you. The journey is usually completed in three to five hours, but young and experienced walkers can reach Ferry Meadows in less time.

About half an hour before reaching Ferry Meadows, you pass through a dense forest where the presence of cool water at your steps and the view of Nanga Parbat gives you a glimpse of the fruits of your labour. Here you have another surprise!

 The Raikot River, emerging from its source, the Raikot Glacier, presents a strange sight. The head of the glacier resembles a cave and those who have not seen the glacier do not believe for a long time that it is the terminus of a glacier. A giant black dragon descends from the high peak of Raikot, several kilometers long and wide, and forms a river at this point.

As you enter Ferry Meadows, you are greeted by greenery all around, Nanga Parbat on the left and Raikot Glacier below. Ferry Meadows also has a small lake. When the surrounding trees and Nanga Parbat are reflected in this lake, an indescribable natural beauty can be seen.

There are two hotels and many beautiful places for camping that you can choose according to your choice. If you have brought food arrangements with you then fine, otherwise food here will cost you many times more than normal conditions. This is due to the cost of transporting goods to this difficult area.

Ferry Meadows to Nanga Parbat Base Camp can be done in a day and back. A local guide can help you with many difficulties in this journey. The reason for this is the glaciers on the way which can be dangerous for the uninitiated tourists and forgetful too.

 The journey from Ferry Meadows towards Nanga Parbat starts on an easy and smooth trail through the thick forest and the whole way till 'Beyal' is very calm and easy. The journey from here onwards consists of first ascent and then descent.

After the descent, you sometimes walk on the glacier, where the ice forms a path in fast-moving water. At the end of the glacier there is once again a steep climb that takes you to the base camp of Nanga Parbat in no time. From here,

 Nanga Parbat in all its majesty and majesty stands very close to you as a true picture of the snowy mountain. On three of your sides are further peaks of the same range encircled in a circle. These peaks include Chongra, Raikot, Jalipuraurgunalu. The glaciers descending from the peaks on all sides present a strange landscape merging into one large glacier.

The height of Nanga Parbat is 8125 meters. Located in Pakistan, it is the second and ninth highest peak in the world. The uniqueness of this mountain is that it is the most difficult peak in the world and has also led to the death of more than forty climbers.

 Due to this feature, it is known as 'Color Mountain' i.e. 'killer mountain'. In addition, locally this mountain is also called 'Diamar', but the whole surrounding area is known as Diamar. goes The reason for the name Nangaparbat is that despite being very high, snow does not stay on the walls of this peak.

Tourists usually stay at Ferry Meadows for several days and wander around the site to study the masterpieces of nature. Locals also organize a polo tournament here in the month of July which adds to the entertainment of the tourists.

 There are many kinds of beautiful birds and animals in the forests here, while the village pets grazing in the pastures also present a charming sight.

 The local language of the people here is 'Shania' which is spoken and understood in all the surrounding areas. These people are very hospitable and polite, pets, summer farming and tourism profession are the main sources of employment of these people.
